Amber Hernandez, a freshman Art student at Sweetwater High School, advanced to the State VASE competition last weekend with her "Watercolor Hands".  Her art work recieved a superior rating and a medal against 1,400 entries from other students from all over the state. Her teacher, Scharles Kelley, said of Amber, "She is one of a few natural artists I have had over the years."

The mission of the TAEA Visual Arts Scholastic Event is to recognize exemplary student achievement in the Visual Arts by providing art students and programs a standard of excellence in which to achieve. State medallions are presented to students who receive a Superior Rating (IV) at the state event.
