SHS students Amber Hernandez and Laura Duclos competed at the State Level Visual Arts Scholastic Event in Austin this past week.

Amber Hernandez received a Gold Seal for her Self Portrait. She was one, out of 100, chosen from 1499 student artworks from all over the state. Amber was also one of four in Region 14 to receive a Gold Seal. The Gold Seal art stays with TAEA until November and travels to the state capital and is exhibited at the annual TAEA Art Conference in Dallas. She also received a medal on her Digital Landscape and Self Portrait. 

Laura Duclos came away from the VASE competition with a superior rating for her Self Portrait and also received a State medal.
