Sweetwater ISD is very fortunate to have a nurse at each of the district's six campuses.  This important team allows all students to have access to a healthcare professional anytime they are in need.  For a school nurse, days consist of administering medications, breathing treatments, minor first aid, monitoring diabetic students, tracheotomy care, hearing/vision testing, spinal screens, immunization awareness, and everything else that comes to their attention.

In February of this year, SISD had an immunization audit by the Nolan County Health Department.  Each grade (Pre-K to 12th) had 100 or more random students audited and the entire district was 100% compliant with immunizations. To achieve such success, Nurses, and other SISD staff members, hand delivered letters to parents, took students to get immunizations, and did whatever else it took to make sure children were vaccinated. This teamwork is just another example of being Sweetwater Strong!
