Trinity Baptist Church Provides Surprise Relief for High School Teachers

Each year students from Sweetwater High School as well as students from schools across the State of Texas participate in academic testing.  These exams inform parents, schools, and districts about the academic progress students make each year.

In an effort to support Sweetwater High School, Trinity Baptist Church of Sweetwater surprised faculty and staff members last week by creating a hospitality room where staff members could get some relief during the stressful time of testing.  Trinity's goal was to support teachers with snacks prepared by church members and Bee's Decor while providing a restful time for faculty to fellowship.

"Sweetwater High School teachers work hard to provide a premier education for their students, " said Trinity Pastor McGowan. "Trinity Baptist Church wanted to show the faculty and staff that their effort and dedication didn't go unnoticed in our community."

Gourmet snacks, sodas, fruits, and pastries were just the beginning of Trinity's hospitality room.  "Sometimes it's nice to have a friendly face and a warm smile that says thank you," said High School Counselor Kiker. "This was a real treat for teachers, but I was pleased that Trinity served all staff members including custodians, cafeteria workers, and paraprofessionals on campus."

Sweetwater High School administration provided snacks for students during testing.  Sweetwater High School has been recognized as one of the top high schools in the Big Country in academics, athletics, and other co-curricular activities.  The school's vision is to become the premier high school in the Big Country and they are proud to partner with Trinity Baptist Church to support education in Sweetwater, Texas.

SHS History Teacher Amy Clark, Assistant Principal Tecka Mobley, Trinity Baptist Church Pastor Matt McGowan, Trinity Baptist Church Education Minister Gretchen Jones, and SHS Counselor Kellie Kiker enjoy fellowship during student testing.
