From Mrs. Howard, SIS Counselor -

January 6 kicked off the 2017 Sweetwater Intermediate School Spelling Bee season with 100 students participating in the preliminary Spelling Bee contest. The field was narrowed to 16 students who competed in the Spelling Bee Finals that were held on February 1.
Twelve rounds of fierce competition left Hallie Scott as the Champion Speller with Faith Osteen coming in second and third place going to Sarah Lingafelter.  Hallie has earned a berth in the Regional Spelling Bee to be held in Odessa on March 25.  The winner of the Regional Spelling Bee will have the opportunity to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee that is held in Washington D.C.
