Painting of Senior Parking Spaces 2017

This year SHS Senior student drivers will have the opportunity to paint/personalize a parking space on campus. The paint/personalized parking spaces will be an additional $5 to the cost of the 2017-18 parking permit. The parking spots are limited to Seniors and on a first come, first serve basis. The parking spaces go on sale Monday, July 31st in the SHS Office. The proceeds of this fund raiser will go to Blow-Out.
The Painting Party will be Thursday and Friday evening,
August 3rd, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. August 4th from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

A Senior Parking Design Request form must be approved before painting.

Guidelines for your Design Sketch:

Think of your space as at-shirt you would wear to school. Your parking spot must meet dress code approval. Keep it classy! Any design associated with gangs, advertising drugs, alcohol, violence, obscene slogan, handicap symbols or symbols that my cause confusion or promote illegal activities will not be allowed nor approved. You may include your name, jersey number, instrument you play, your hobby, famous quotes or slogans and anything unique to you that meets administrative approval. Make it fun!

Paint Requirements:

WATER BASED EXTERIOR LATEX paint is the only type of paint that can be used. Students will also need to leave an approximately four inch unpainted border between the white parking space lines and the paint in their parking spot. Please use blue painters' tape to ensure this border is accomplished. You may purchase WATER BASED EXTERIOR LATEX paint at Higginbotham's in Sweetwater (Consider sharing with others). All paint will be the responsibility of the student.

UNAPPROVED PAINTS:

 No oil based paints
 No reflective paint
 No spray paint
 No fluorescent paint
 No paint sprayers
 No clear coat

What to Bring to the Painting Party:

Be sure to bring your approved design/sketches with you on paint day. Also, you will be responsible for all paint brushes, rollers, paint pans and paint tape. A broom to sweep off your spot before painting will save you lots of time. You will want to bring lawn chairs for your entire family, a canopy or market umbrella, sunscreen, drinks, stencils, rags for cleaning, sacks or bags to dispose of trash, a drop cloth and paint clothes. This will be a really fun activity for the entire family and we hope to make this a great memorable tradition for all Seniors for years to follow!
