Hannah Kamer Wins Sweetwater Middle School's Spelling Bee This Week

1st place - Hannah Kamer
2nd place - Zane Espinoza
3rd place - Samuel Melendez

Hannah will be representing her school in the Odessa Regional Spelling BEE in March. Congratulations to all of the participants and winners!

Sweetwater Intermediate School Hosts Successful Local Spelling Bee

January 6 kicked off the 2017 Sweetwater Intermediate School Spelling Bee season with 100 students participating in the preliminary Spelling Bee contest. The field was narrowed to 16 students who competed in the Spelling Bee Finals that were held on February 1.  
 
Twelve rounds of fierce competition left Hallie Scott as the Champion Speller with Faith Osteen coming in second and third place going to Sarah Lingafelter.  Hallie has earned a berth in the Regional Spelling Bee to be held in Odessa on March 25.  The winner of the Regional Spelling Bee will have the opportunity to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee that is held in Washington D.C.

SHS' Bryson Rule Qualifies for TMEA All-State Choir Two Years In A Row

This past weekend, SHS Senior Bryson Rule auditioned and made the TMEA All-State Choir. He will represent Sweetwater High School this February at the All-State Choir Concert. This is a huge accomplishment for Bryson as he will now be a Two-Year All-State Choir member!

Middle School Robotics Teams Win at Area Competition in Clyde on Saturday

I would like to announce that the SMS Robotics Team placed 1st and 3rd in the Area Arena Competition, and 3rd and 4th in the Area Invention Competition, this past Saturday at Clyde We will be taking at least one team to the State Competition in May and I couldn't be prouder of my Robotics students.
