*** NOTE *** Teachers can go into the MY EPORTFOLIO tab - then CONTACT INFO - in order to change their email address with Project Share. If a teacher does not remember their log in information, they could "re-activate" their account using their old email address as the answer to the prompt found when clicking on the "Did not receive an account activation emal" link - found on the projectsharetexas homepage. This would allow teacher's access to the system and then permit them to change their email address. (Email Mike Marlett if you need help with Project Share log in)
About Project Share:
1. Project Share is just for Texas educators. Epsilen is the company that houses this TEA program. It is expected that TEA will use Project Share exclusively to provide info and materials to teachers for certain things.
2. Project Share has:
Lesson Plans
Videos
New York Times Articles back to the 1800s
PBS Resources
NASA Resources
Professional Learning Communities
Professional Development
Various Standards Information
iTunesU digital content
3. OnTrack For College Readiness Lessons for Professional Development and Student Use is now available in Project Share. With this, teachers could assign some core subject lessons to a student in order to enrich in classroom instruction. Classes would have to setup and activated before it would be available in the system.
4. Project Share is now available for students. The ability for students to have a login will be a district by district decision. We will need to discuss if Sweetwater has a need for students to access this system. A teacher's classroom support material for student work could be uploaded and then accessed by students from home if we choose to allow student access. Teachers could just use their own Project Share page to provide this information to all their students (even with password protection) without having to give each student a log in.
5. My ePortfolio - your personal landing spot on the web and Project Share. It is open to the web and can be used a teacher webpage. For example, see David Watkins' ePortfolio page at http://www.epsilen.com/dwatkins1 There are many ways to customize this page from the tabs provided below My ePortfolio on the left hand sidebar.
6. Access Keys - An access key is a code that you can give out so that anyone with the key can become a member of a group or course etc without having to go through an approval process. You can change the access key from time to time in order to keep only those you want in the group activated without the need to use email approvals. We need to explore putting in a CScope Access Key for teachers to have access to CScope Lesson Guides from within Project Share.
7. Groups - This can be public or private. You could upload docs etc for sharing from within the group. Google Docs could be used for this as well. The benefit of using Project Share is that you could include people outside of our district if you wanted to. When searching for groups made by the Service Center - be sure to search for ESC 14 with a space. This is how ESC14 is formatting themselves to be easier to find.
8. As you move between your My Portal to Groups or other areas - you can always see where you are in the system by looking at the heading at the top of the page. It will show you MY PORTAL or GROUPS etc.
