Ivy Earns All-State Band Recognition

Crysten IvyLast Saturday, three Sweetwater High School sophomore students competed at the Area Level of Band Competition. Out of over 100 participating schools, only 40 students at this competition advance to the All-State level.

Sophomore clarinetist Crysten Ivy made the Texas All-State Band and is the first clarinet all-stater from Sweetwater in many years, and the first SHS Band All-State musician in the last six years. Chase Scott placed 3rd out of 15 saxophones, missing state by only one position and Stephen Le placed 7th out of 20 french horns, missing state by only three spots.
