January 7, 2019:

The Board of Trustees of Sweetwater Independent School District is pleased to announce that Mr. Jimmy Parker was unanimously selected by the Board at its January 6, 2020 meeting to serve as the District’s Interim Superintendent.  Mr. Parker will begin his Interim Superintendent duties on January 7, 2020.

Prior to becoming the Interim Superintendent for Sweetwater ISD, Mr. Parker served as the Superintendent of Tahoka ISD from July 1999 through June 2009, and as the Superintendent of Roosevelt ISD from July 2009 until his retirement in August 2016. Following his retirement, Mr. Parker has remained active in school administration, including serving as the Interim Superintendent at Post ISD in 2018 and at Stamford ISD in 2019.  The Board of Trustees looks forward to working with Mr. Parker during the Spring 2020 semester, and it will begin the search immediately for a permanent SISD Superintendent.
