The 2024 - 2025 Sweetwater Intermediate School Teacher of the Year is Kimberly Jones!

JC Ibarra won the award for the Kiwanis Kid Club. He received a $25 gift card and was presented an award from San Miguel Gonzalo (Kiwanis Club). This award was based on grades, great behavior, and test improvement. Keep up the great work JC!

SIS held a STAAR Pep Rally on Tuesday, April 15 to celebrate the hard work students have been putting in to get ready for testing! The SHS Varsity Cheerleaders and SHS Drumline came to support and cheer on our students and staff. Staff performed skits to encourage our students to do their best!
Our amazing PTO provided shirts for every student and staff member in the building!
On Wednesday, April 16 SMS NJHS members cheered on SIS 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders as they arrived at school to take their STAAR Reading test!








SISD's STAAR testing will begin on April 9. Please check relevant dates for your student's testing and ensure that they are in attendance for every test possible.

The fourth and fifth grade engineering, scientific, and fine arts teams competed at
the Destination Imagination (DI) regional tournament in Midland, TX. DI is a
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and creativity competition. All
three teams advanced to the Lonestar Finals state tournament at the University of
Texas in Arlington. The state tournament is the largest one-day competition in the
world. The fine arts team placed first, and the engineering team placed third. Both
teams will compete at Global Finals against teams from around the nation and
other countries at Kansas City, Missouri in May. #SimplyTheBest
