Student attendance is crucial for academic success and future opportunities. For students, showing up every day builds a foundation for learning and develops habits like responsibility that are essential for future careers. For parents, understanding that chronic absences, missing just two days a month, could be a warning sign for dropping out of high school is vital. It's a team effort: when schools, parents, and students work together to make attendance a priority, everyone benefits, and a child's path to graduation and a bright future becomes clearer.

If you are struggling to attend school, please reach out so that we can help you problem-solve and find solutions that ensure student success.

Attendance predicts graduation. By ninth grade, attendance is a key indicator of whether you will graduate from high school. Let's make sure you walk across that stage! 🎓

Dear Sweetwater High School Families,

This afternoon, Sweetwater High School was placed on a brief hold while law enforcement conducted an investigation in the area. We want to assure you that at no time was there any threat to our students or staff.

The hold was implemented out of an abundance of caution and was lifted shortly after the situation was resolved. All students and staff remained safe throughout the duration of the hold, and our school day proceeded without further interruption.

We are grateful for the prompt response of local law enforcement and for the cooperation of our students and staff. As always, the safety and well-being of our school community is our highest priority.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school office.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Scott Cottenoir

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Please be advised that only students who received a failing grade for any six weeks grade will be receiving a printed report card by mail. Report cards and progress reports for all other students will be available for viewing through the Parent Portal.

We also invite you to attend our Open House on Thursday, October 2nd, from 5:00–6:00 p.m. This will be a wonderful opportunity to visit the campus, meet your child’s teachers, and learn more about their academic progress.
Thank you for your continued support of Sweetwater High School. We look forward to seeing you at Open House.
Sincerely,
