SMS Parents and students, Over the last few days, there have been many school district around the state that have received reports of social media posts and emails indicating they are the target of violence or that they appear on a list of schools targeted. TEA is working with the Texas Department of Public Safety and law enforcement agencies throughout the state who are vigorously investigating these threats. If you receive a threat or you learn that Sweetwater appears on a list, you should immediately notify local law enforcement. We will continue to monitor the situation. Our greatest concern is the safety of our students. Respectfully, Kevin Stoker SMS Principal

As we launch into our 2024-25 school year, we are welcoming our new SISD Team Members. Kevin Stoker is the new Sweetwater Middle School Principal. Mr. Stoker shares, "I became an educator because I view teaching as a profound mission field where I can live out my values and make a meaningful impact every day. For me, it's about modeling a good Christian walk and passing on the wisdom and grace that my own great teachers instilled in me. This role allows me to give back in a way that is deeply fulfilling, nurturing both the hearts and minds of my students while honoring the legacy of those who shaped my own journey. I am thrilled to join Sweetwater ISD and be a part of the exceptional team at SMS. Working daily with such dedicated and supportive colleagues fills me with pride. I am genuinely grateful for this opportunity and could not ask for a better campus or more hardworking staff." #ForwardSweetwaterTogether #MustangSpirit

As we launch into our 2024-25 school year, we are welcoming our new SISD Team Members. Haley Tabor will be teaching at SMS & SHS. Haley shares, "I really enjoy working with students and having the opportunity to mentor middle school and high school aged kids. I also have a passion for art and tennis and I enjoy being able to share that knowledge with kids. Tennis is a lifetime sport. I like the idea of teaching kids to play a sport that they can continue to play and use to stay active even as an adult. Teaching an elective like art gives an outlet for students who are not interested in core subjects. It helps to keep some kids engaged and interested in school." #ForwardSweetwaterTogether #MustangSpirit
