Tonight is the night! SMS PTO Valentine Dance! There will be door prizes, games, concession & music will be provided by one of Sweetwater's finest DJ's. $7.00 at the door. Please encourage you students to attend. Chaperones will be PTO members, Faculty & Staff.
Don't forget, SMS will be having Spring Pictures taken on February 16, 2023 in the school gym. Order packets have been passed out and extra's are available in the office.
On January 31 and February 1, our district chose to cancel school due to weather. In our calendar, we have two bad weather days, February 20 and April 7. Rather than using bad weather days to make up for the days missed, our district has chosen to use banked minutes to make up for these days. Thus, February 20 and April 7 will both be holidays, and our district will be closed.

It is National School Counselor Week and SMS is so very lucky to have the best! Mrs. Stoker makes our school better everyday, by the love and caring that she show to our students and staff. She is understanding, patient, giving, loving and holds our students in her heart. Thank you Shannon Stoker for allowing us to be apart of your life everyday.
The SMS National Junior Honor Society is hosting a Hygiene Drive for students in need. We are taking donations of Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Mouthwash, Shampoo, Body Wash, Deodorant, Lotion, Feminine Hygiene Products, Etc. The class that donates the most will have a popcorn & soda party. If you would like to donate you may drop your items off at the SMS Office. Thank you in advance for your willingness to help out SMS Students.
SMS PTO will be hosting a Valentine Dance, Friday, Feb. 10th in the school cafeteria. Students of SMS only. Pre-Sales are $ 5.00 until Monday 2-6 and at the door sales will be $ 7.00. There will be a concession stand and the dance will be chaperoned by SMS PTO members as well as SMS Faculty and Staff. It's going to be a great night!!!
Sweetwater ISD will start at 10:00am Thursday, February 2, 2023. Buses will run on pavement only.
Due to hazardous road conditions, Sweetwater ISD will be closed for WEDNESDAY, February 1, 2023.

Congratulations to Mrs. Shannon Stoker, SMS Counselor for being chosen SMS STAR OF THE WEEK! Mrs. Stoker starts the day off with a warm and caring smile and ends the day the same way. Mrs. Stoker works hard to ensure that all students, faculty and staff feel loved and comforted.

SMS Lady Colts Vs Levelland 1/19/23.
SMS Colts will be back in action, Monday 1/23 at the SMS Gyms, while the Lady Colts will travel to Snyder. We couldn't be prouder of all of our athletes and what they have accomplished this year! Go Colts!!!!

Congratulations to the Sweetwater Fire Department and The Alabama Cougars (student team) for being the undisputed champions at the annual SMS Dodgeball Tournament. SMS had over eleven student teams, along with the Sweetwater Police Department and a Faculty and Staff team. Thank you to our first responders for making it a great day!
