The Sweetwater Golf program named its Vardon Trophy winners for the 2022/2023 season. The Vardon winner has the lowest scoring average for the year on the team that they compete on. Sweetwater High School was well represented at the first Working Solutions of West Central Texas, Career and Technical Education Signing Day held in Abilene. In partnership with RootED Alliance, seniors across the region were recognized for committing to entering high-demand career pathways upon graduation. 23 SHS Seniors were honored. #MustangSpirit #whereachchildmatters

Boys Regional Track Results: Proud of these Mustangs and how they competed over the weekend at the Regional Track Meet. The 4x100 (44.94) finished in 9th place overall while the 4x400 finished 10th (3:41.49). Running on both relays, Jadyn Forbes, Jace Adames, Calixto Mendez, and Xavier Guerrero. These guys had a great year. Jadyn Forbes finished 6th overall in the 400m run with a 51.78 in the prelims and a 50.24 (PR) in the finals. Proud of all the Mustang Track athletes and what they accomplished this season. Sweetwater Track & Field has a very bright future! #MustangSpirit #whereeachchildmatters

Lady Mustangs Regional Track Results: Aunisti Griffin and Toreyna Saddler returned from Lubbock with a pair of gold medals, record setting performances and a ticket punched to the State Trackmeet! Toreyna had a personal best throw in the discus of 135’1 and finished 4th in the region. She threw the shot 40’5 1/4 to win the gold and qualify for State. Aunisti ran 12.32 in the 100m and finished 4th. She had a personal best time of 25.57 in the 200m and finished 1st, qualifying for state. Our region is very large and stretches from El Paso, Amarillo, Fort Stockton, Wichita Falls to Fort Worth. These girls were the very best in their respective events for a large territory.
